Furniture Care

CLEANING - For routine cleaning, use a micro-fiber or a water-dampened, soft clean cloth  For deeper cleaning, A mixture of Murphy's Oil Soap and water may also be used. The use of well-formulated cleaning products without abrasives can be effective for tougher cleaning tasks. If using these products, a follow-up with warm water and a clean, soft cloth is suggested. Follow-up with a soft lint-free cloth to dry the surface. *Avoid polishes and cleaners that contain silicone, ammonia or wax.

ENVIRONMENT

WOOD- Solid wood is a natural, living material and responds to changes in temperature and humidity by expanding and contracting.  If the relative humidity moves out of the ideal range (35 to 45 percent) it may cause splits or cracks in the grain or joints of the wood panels. These symptoms are the result of an uncontrolled environment and are not considered defective. Ultraviolet light from the sun and fluorescent fixtures can cause chemical changes in the wood and/or finish. Avoid placing your furniture in an area where it will be hit with direct sunlight, keep it away from direct sources of heating and cooling, and avoid storing it in an attic or cellar type environment.

METAL - Use a micro-fiber or a water-dampened soft clean cloth.  *Avoid polishes and cleaners that contain silicone, ammonia or wax.

LEATHER - It’s common for leather to show signs of wear over time from normal use. Leather may darken from direct or indirect sun light exposure. To minimize visible wear, avoid contact with sharp objects and use coasters or felt pads when possible. We recommend Fiebing's Saddle Soap for preserving your leather products.
